Ted Kooser, photo © Blue Flower ArtsRetired after 35 years as a life insurance executive, Ted Kooser lives in rural Nebraska and teaches poetry and essay writing at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Twice named U. S. Poet Laureate (2004-2006), he was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in Poetry for his 2004 collection Delights & Shadows, published by Copper Canyon Press.

His most recent books have been the children’s stories, Bag in the Wind and House Held Up By Trees. Three new volumes are forthcoming in 2014: The Wheeling Year, a book of prose vignettes (University of Nebraska Press); Splitting an Order, a collection of poems (Copper Canyon); and The Bell in the Bridge, a children’s story (Candlewick Press).

 

美国诗人泰德·库瑟曾在一家人寿保险公司的管理层供职35年,退休后居住在内布拉斯加州的乡村,并在内布拉斯加大学林肯分校教授诗歌与散文写作。他是2004-2006年两届美国桂冠诗人,第二任期间,诗集《喜悦与阴翳》(Copper Canyon出版社,2004年)为他赢得了普利策诗歌奖。

库瑟以善用隐喻而著称,至今出版有诗集十余部,文集四种,此外他还为孩子们写故事书,最近的两本分别是《风中口袋》和《大树扶持的房屋》。2014年将有三本新书出版:散文小品集《轮转之年》(内布拉斯加大学出版社);诗集《分餐而食》(Copper Canyon出版社);和另一本儿童故事书《桥里的钟》(烛芯出版社)。

Wang Xiaoni | 王小妮, photo © 徐敬亚 | Xu JingyaWang Xiaoni, born 1955 in Changchun, Jilin Province, was “sent down” to the countryside at 14 with her parents during the Cultural Revolution. In 1978, she entered the Chinese Department of Jilin University, afterward joining the Changchun Film Studio’s General Editing Department. She moved to Shenzhen, S. China in 1985 as a freelance writer and editor. In 2005, she became a faculty member of the Humanities and Communications College at Hainan University. She’s currently retired, focused on her writing.

Her 22 books cover various genres, including the poetry collections My Fire Wrapped in My Paper; Half of Me Is Aching; Something Crossed My Mind; and the novel Forty Miles Around. Recent essay volumes are All the Way North; Setting Down; and Listening and Telling. In 2011, her Notes on My Class was so well received that its sequel, Notes on My Class 2, appeared earlier this year. Among her many honors are the Selected Stories’ Novel Prize, the Anne-Kao Poetry Prize, the Poetry Prize of Media Awards for Chinese Literature, and the New Poetry Circle International Poetry Award.

 

王小妮,1955年生于吉林省长春市。14岁随父母下放农村,断续读书后插队。1978年春考入吉林大学中文系,1982年初任职长春电影制片厂总编室。1985年初移居广东深圳,从事编辑和自由写作。2005年任职海南大学人文传播学院,现已退休,专事写作。出版有诗歌小说散文等22种。近年作品包括诗集《我的纸里包着我的火》、《半个我正在疼痛》、《有什么在我心里一过》;长篇小说《方圆四十里》;文集《一直向北》、《安放》、《倾听与诉说》。2011年出版随笔《上课记》,广受好评,2013年出版《上课记2》。曾获《小说选刊》小说奖、安高诗歌奖、华语文学传媒大奖诗歌奖、新诗界国际诗歌奖等多种文学奖项。

曹疏影 | Cao ShuyingCao Shuying, originally from Harbin, China, lives in Hong Kong. She holds both a B.A. and M.A. in Chinese literature from Peking University, and studied Italian in Perugia, Italy.

Among her poetry collections are Marionette; The Silverberry Chest; and Golden Snow. Her essay and fiction volumes include Notes on My Years; Summer in Umbria; and the full length fairytale Fishing with Humi. She’s also the editor of It’s She, It’s Also You and I—Interviews with Women Coming to Hong Kong.

Her awards include the Liu Li’an Poetry Prize, Taiwan’s China Times Literature Prize for the Essay, and the Hong Kong Chinese Literature Prize.

 

曹疏影,詩人、作家,哈爾濱人,曾居北京,現居香港。為北京大學文學學士、碩士,曾於意大利佩魯賈進修意大利語。寫有詩集《拉線木偶》、《茱萸箱》、《金雪》,散文集《虛齒記》、《翁布里亞的夏天》,童話小說集《和呼咪一起釣魚》。編有《是她也是你和我——準來港女性訪談錄》。曾獲劉麗安詩歌獎、中國時報文學獎散文獎、香港中文文學獎等。
